George Carlin’s Last Show Was in Las Vegas

Comedy legend George Carlin died of heart failure at a Santa Monica hospital on Sunday June 22nd, 2008 at 5:55 p.m at the age of 71. George Carlin’s last show was performed at the Orleans hotel in Las Vegas. There he received an award for the 11th annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

Often called the dean of counterculture, wa know for his off-beat comic style and developed a particularly provocative routine called, “The Seven Words You Can Never Say On TV.”

George Carlin had a history of heart complications and was reported to have entered St. John’s Health Center on Sunday afternoon, complaining of chest pain.
