Fire Consumes Alystra Casino

May 14, 2008

Fire consumed the Alystra Casino which was closed for renovations in 1998 and never reopened. As the fire ripped through the structure some of it had to be demolished by heavy equipment. This was in an effort to control the fire which took firefighters approximately four hours to extinguish.

The Alystra Casino located at 333 West Sunset Road originally opened in 1995 and closed in 1998. Fire Battalion Chief Randall Jones of the Henderson Fire Department, stated, “No one was injured in fighting the fire, but the casino, which has been closed for 10 years, was a total loss.”
