Out-of-state crews post SC signs in wrong places

COLUMBIA, S.C. - While out-of-town for business, it always helps to ask the locals for directions. Especially if that business involves putting up street signs.

Crews from the North Carolina firm Signage Industries installed two signs near downtown Columbia, South Carolina that mistakenly pointed motorists away from the two colleges and an auditorium they promoted.

A city official, Steve Gantt, says a Columbia worker will now tail along with the North Carolina crews installing the city’s more than 100 new signs.

Wasn’t there a game show called you bet your life? Probably not the same stakes though…

An Atlantic City pastor was one of two Catholic monsignors hired by accused con artist Raffaello Follieri, allegedly to dupe real-estate investors into thinking he had close Vatican connections, The Post has learned.

Standing in front of four American flags, Sen. Barack Obama delivered a speech in the aptly named town of Independence, Mo., today in an attempt to reassure voters about his patriotism.

."At certain times over the last 16 months, I have found, for the first time, my patriotism challenged — at times as a result of my own carelessness, more often as a result of the desire by some to score political points and raise fears about who I am and what I stand for," Obama told a crowd of about 1,000 at the Harry Truman Center in Missouri
