Why Won’t Baraq Go Back To Iraq?

May 31, 2008

Good question, huh? It seems despite refusing to take the opportunities presented to him for visiting Iraq and seeing the progress first hand that’s been since the surge, Baraq has consistently refused and avoided and evaded those opportunities. The reason I think he’s not going is because it would interfere with his pre-written story line if he saw the progress and talked to Petraeus about it on the ground there. It would be the Presidential thing to do instead of incessantly whining as he and his cohorts do. Maybe then he could finally get informed enough to come up with an intelligent Iraq policy and plan a withdrawal from that area that makes sense.

To McCain’s credit, he’s cornered Baraq and now he has to fish or cut bait. Good on you JM for backing down the little twit. This is one of the aspects of the campaign that demonstrates how Obama behaves like the loyal opposition and not a President.

McCain: How about traveling to Iraq, Barack?
posted at 9:20 am on May 27, 2008 by Ed Morrissey

John McCain took an opportunity to hit Barack Obama where he feels the Democrat is vulnerable: Iraq. If that seems like a contradiction, the McCain campaign thinks that Obama’s lack of immersion in Iraq makes him look inexperienced and weak, especially since Obama hasn’t visited Iraq for over two years, well before the surge reversed American fortunes. Yesterday, McCain challenged Obama to accompany him on a visit:

“Look at what happened in the last two years since Senator Obama visited and declared the war lost,” the GOP nominee-in-waiting told The Associated Press in an interview, noting that the Illinois senator’s last trip to Iraq came before the military buildup that is credited with curbing violence.
“He really has no experience or knowledge or judgment about the issue of Iraq and he has wanted to surrender for a long time,” the Arizona senator added. “If there was any other issue before the American people, and you hadn’t had anything to do with it in a couple of years, I think the American people would judge that very harshly.”

Cox overhauling HD channel lineup

May 31, 2008

Quote:

Prepare to re-enable your cable Sunday, as Cox Communications rewrites its high-definition channel lineup.

Effective Sunday, the overhaul sends existing HD channels scurrying to other channel numbers, and also includes the addition of five new high-def channels: USA, Sci Fi Channel, Animal Planet, The Travel Channel and The Science Channel.

"The realignment of our HD channel lineup is going to simplify navigation," said Steve Schorr, Cox’s vice president of public and government affairs, in a statement. "(It’s) going to make navigation to the exact location of an HD channel very easy and intuitive for our customers."

Simplified, that means, for example, that KTNV, which is Channel 13 on basic cable, is now easier to remember on high-def as Channel 713, rather than its former assignment at Channel 732. KLAS, Channel 8, which formerly had been on high-def at Channel 730, now relocates to Channel 708.

I can hardly wait untill it’s all in "High Definition" remembering as a kid, rabbit ears reception.
